Earth Day Angels

DSCN2687One of the Webelos participated in the 2007 Scout Sweep on Saturday, April 21 with Cub Pack 68. They couldn't have asked for a better day as they picked up trash along the Genesee Riverway Trail near Turning Point Park and afterwards attended a free picnic at Genesee Valley Park.

If you have participated in an outside service project and would like to let everyone know about it, send the information to cubpack248webmaster@yahoo.com and we'll put it up.

The Reptile Guys

The April pack meeting was a big hit. Andre' Evans led the scouts through drills and a uniform inspection. The scouts were awarded their pins, belt loops, and a special 55 patch to commemorate 55 years of Cub Pack 68. But the big hit of the night was the presentation by The Reptile Guys from Captive Life Forms.

Scout Sweep This Saturday, April 21

A Scouting Service Project that kick's off the Clean Sweep program for the City of Rochester!

Our highly successful community service project centered around the Genesee Riverway Trails returns for the seventh annual “Scout Sweep” on Saturday, April 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This year we will kick off the City of Rochester’s Clean Sweep. Help us build on the success of this unique community service event and highlight the availability of Scouting programs in Rochester. Once again we hope to involve as many of our Scouting units in a visible and significant service project to benefit Rochester.

In cooperation with the City of Rochester, we are organizing units to pick up litter and debris along the Genesee Riverway Trail and Erie Canal. We plan to cover the trails from Genesee Valley Park, north to downtown and the trails near Maplewood Park Rose Garden, Seneca Park, and Turning Point Park. Clean-up opportunities are also available along portions of the Erie Canal east and west of the Genesee Riverway Trail as well as other parts of the City.

Scouting for Food & Clothing: Hard Work Pays Off

The cub scouts of Pack 248 spent the morning collecting the bags they had distributed last week to area homes. Only this time the bags were full of food and clothing which they brought to distribution centers where it will be passed on to people in need. Good job!
