Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 248
Welcome to Cub Scout pack 248. We are a pack that has been in existence for over 50 years and are very proud of that.
We are sponsored by St. Charles Borromeo Church. Den meetings as well as Pack Meetings are Thursday nights from 6:30 - 8:00. Den meetings are once a week and Pack meetings are once a month.
We are a family oriented pack. From field trips to Pack Meeting activities, families are involved.
We are an active pack. Some of our activities in the past have included camping, hayrides, and bonfires, Pinewood Derby, and holiday parties (which have included reptile shows which the scouts loved) as well as numerous field trips to area attractions.
Our Pack also prides itself in doing community service projects. We have collected food and clothing for area food cupboards during the holiday season, rung the "bells" at the mall for the Salvation Army as well as participated in the "Scouting for Food and Clothing"
There is a $30 registration fee but we do not have weekly dues for our scouts. The pack pays for all activities for each scout that the scouts participate in as a pack or den. All our scouts receive the Boys' Life magazine as part of their registration fee. We find it to be a fun and informative magazine for all the scouts.

Registration Fee Breakdown
- 1 year membership $14.50
- 1 year insurance $2.00
- 1 year subscription to Boys' Life $5.00
- Patches, pins, neckerchief, slides, and recognition awards range from $0.99 - $2.00
As you see, the $30 registration doesn't come close to covering the yearly cost per scout therefore our pack does do fundraising. We participate in the annual Scout Popcorn Sale every year as well as hosting a Pancake Breakfast and Bowl-a-thon. We try to make these functions as much fun as possible.
We appreciate any and all volunteering that we get from our parents but you do not have to volunteer in order for your son to participate in our pack.
